Earth : The Power of the Planet - Complete BBC Series

Iain Stewart - 2008

We aren't using this as part of a project or anything, I just got it and the accompanying book as a general resource but of course when it arrived Audrey wanted to watch it at once. It was interesting enough that she watched the first two episodes, Volcanoes and Atmosphere back to back. The other three episodes are Ice, Oceans and Rare Earth which looks at how the four forces previously covered plus the action of the moon and the Earth's magnetic field and distance from the sun have all combined to make complex life possible. A very nice overview, not too dumbed down and with some spectacular footage and nice CGI. Iain Stewart is a good presenter getting across his enthusiasm for the subject without being irritating. Total running time 295 minutes. - firebird
